Whether you prefer an outdoor or indoor ceremony, a chapel or winery, a beach or orchard, there is no shortage of places in Michigan to host the wedding of your dreams. The hardest part of choosing where to hold your ceremony may be settling on just one place.
Beaches on the Great Lakes
Four of the five Great Lakes share their beaches with Michigan shoreline, so a beach wedding is relatively easy to arrange. For beautiful sunsets, choose Oval Beach, Ludington State Park and Esch Road Beach, all named by the Chicago Tribune as some of the best Lake Michigan Beaches. Lake Michigan beaches offer two rarities: the singing sands and the Petoskey stone. The sands make a squeaking sound when walked upon because of their high quartz content, and the Petoskey stone is actually fossilized coral and the state stone. Dunes, parks and lighthouses dot the shoreline of Lake Huron and make for stunning settings for weddings. The beaches along Lake Superior are noted for their dramatic cliffs and bluffs and offer secluded spots such as Twelvemile Beach in the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore.
Apple Blossom Chapel and Gardens
The Apple Blossom Chapel and Gardens in Northern Michigan offers couples the choice of an indoor wedding in the chapel or an outdoor wedding in the gardens near the old apple orchard. Garden weddings often take place in the white gazebo on the grounds. Wedding packages may include artificial flowers in a variety of colors, traditional wedding music selections on CD, a cupcake stand with yellow, marble or chocolate cupcakes, and punch.

Wellers' Weddings
The Wellers’ property, just south of Ann Arbor, was once a mill owned by automotive industrialist Henry Ford. Now it is a popular wedding destination. Hold your ceremony along the banks of the Saline River, which runs near the property, or in one of three banquet rooms: the Carriage House, the Henry Ford Room or the Raisin River Room.
