Beaches on the Great Lakes
Four of the five Great Lakes share their beaches with Michigan shoreline, so a beach wedding is relatively easy to arrange. For beautiful sunsets, choose Oval Beach, Ludington State Park and Esch Road Beach, all named by the Chicago Tribune as some of the best Lake Michigan Beaches. Lake Michigan beaches offer two rarities: the singing sands and the Petoskey stone. The sands make a squeaking sound when walked upon because of their high quartz content, and the Petoskey stone is actually fossilized coral and the state stone. Dunes, parks and lighthouses dot the shoreline of Lake Huron and make for stunning settings for weddings. The beaches along Lake Superior are noted for their dramatic cliffs and bluffs and offer secluded spots such as Twelvemile Beach in the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore.

The Apple Blossom Chapel and Gardens in Northern Michigan offers couples the choice of an indoor wedding in the chapel or an outdoor wedding in the gardens near the old apple orchard. Garden weddings often take place in the white gazebo on the grounds. Wedding packages may include artificial flowers in a variety of colors, traditional wedding music selections on CD, a cupcake stand with yellow, marble or chocolate cupcakes, and punch.

Wellers' Weddings
The Wellers’ property, just south of Ann Arbor, was once a mill owned by automotive industrialist Henry Ford. Now it is a popular wedding destination. Hold your ceremony along the banks of the Saline River, which runs near the property, or in one of three banquet rooms: the Carriage House, the Henry Ford Room or the Raisin River Room. Wellers’ Weddings also features Full Moon Ceremonies, nighttime affairs by the light of the moon.

Castle Farms
Castle Farms was built in 1918 by Albert Loed, the acting president of Sears, Roebuck and Co. The buildings were created using local stone and designed after stone barns in Normandy, France. The buildings and grounds were completely renovated in 2005, and now it serves as a popular Northern Michigan wedding destination. The grounds include the buildings themselves, reception halls, outdoor courtyards, an indoor chapel, European gardens and bridal suites. Services for your wedding include set-up and tear-down, ceremony and reception facilitators, CD and microphone sound system, chairs, candelabras and dressing rooms.
