Your Facebook profile shows as much or as little information about you as you wish to display according to your privacy settings. If you have uploaded any photographs, Facebook also gives you the option of choosing one of those photographs to represent you as your avatar on all your activities on your site by creating a smaller thumbnail version of the picture. You can resize or reshape the way your profile photo looks by editing your profile picture's thumbnail.
Log in to your Facebook account, and then click your name in the upper-left column to navigate to your profile.
Hover your mouse over your profile photo in the upper-left corner and click on the "Change Picture" link that appears.
Click the "Edit Thumbnail" link under your current profile picture.
Uncheck the box next to "Scale to Fit" if you'd like to edit the thumbnail to include only part of the full-sized photo. If this box is already unchecked and you'd like to resize the thumbnail to include the entire photo, check the box.
Drag the profile photo thumbnail with your mouse around the visible box, and then click "Save" when it looks the size and shape that you prefer.
