Forward Live Mail to Gmail

Windows Live Hotmail includes a mail forwarding feature to transfer incoming mail to another account. Setting a Gmail account as the Live Mail recipient allows you to consolidate your accounts into one, and reduce the time and effort needed to check both inboxes. This also allows the Live email messages to work with unique Gmail features such as archiving, filtering and quick searching.

Open a web browser and navigate to the Windows Live Mail website. Sign in using your Windows Live ID.

Click on "Hotmail" and then select "Options" in the Hotmail Highlights section. In the "Managing your account" subsection, click "Email forwarding."

Click the "Forward your mail to another email account" radio button. Enter your Gmail address into the dialogue box. Check the "Keep a copy of forwarded messages" box to keep the Hotmail inbox intact, or leave it empty to remove messages after forwarding. Click "Save."

Sign out of Windows Live Mail and navigate to the Gmail website. Sign in using your Google Account to view incoming Live Mail messages.
