If you no longer want your Facebook profile online, you can either deactivate it or delete it. Deactivating your account is easy and can be done through your Account Settings page on Facebook. This action makes your profile appear as if it has been deleted but all your information is saved in case you want to reactivate it later. If you would prefer to permanently delete your account and all the information associated with it, you need to submit a request to the Facebook team. Regardless of which option you choose, you can always create a new account in the future.
Permanently Delete Your Facebook Account
Log in to your Facebook account.
Click on "Help" in the lower-right corner of the page.
Click on "Top Questions" in the menu on the left side of the page.
Click on "How do I permanently delete my account?" in the list of questions.
Click on the blue link that says "Submit your request here."
Click on "Submit" in the "Delete My Account" window. When your request is received, the Facebook team deletes your account.
Create a New Facebook Account
Visit the Facebook website.
Enter your name, email address, a password your gender and your birthday in the sign-up box on the right side of the page.
Click on the "Sign Up" button at the bottom of the sign-up form.
Type the characters you see in the text box provided. This verifies that you are an actual person and not a computer program.
Click on the "Sign Up" button at the bottom-right of the page.
Enter your profile information in the boxes provided.
Click the "Save & Continue" button at the bottom right of the page. This redirects you to your new Facebook page where you can manage and further customize your profile.
