Facebook allows you to communicate with other Facebook users through the use of a profile. This profile, along with any Facebook pages you may have created, is managed and contained within a Facebook account. If you want to edit a Facebook account -- meaning you want to edit the account email login, password or notification settings -- you can do so through the "Account Settings" section of your Facebook homepage.
Open the computer's Web browser and navigate to the Facebook login page. Type the Facebook account email and password in the spaces provided and click the "Login" button to log in to the Facebook account.
Click the "Account" option on the Facebook homepage and click the "Account Settings" option from the menu.
Click the "Settings" tab to view and edit the account's settings. You can change or manage the account's name, username, email, password, linked accounts, privacy and security by clicking the "Change" or "Manage" link to the right of the option. You can also deactivate the account by clicking the "Deactivate" link.
Click the "Networks" tab to view and edit the account's networks. You can join a new network by typing the name of the network and a network email address in the spaces provided and clicking the "Join Network" button or you can remove a network you've already joined.
Click the "Notifications" tab to view and edit the account's notification settings. Click empty boxes to place check marks next to the events that you want Facebook to notify you of via email or text message, and click check marks next to the events that you don't want Facebook to notify you of to remove them.
Click the "Mobile" tab to view and edit the mobile devices linked to the account. Click the "Add another phone" link and follow the on-screen instructions to add a new phone to the account, or click the "Remove" link to remove a phone from the account.
Click the "Language" tab to view and edit the languages associated with the account. Click the primary language for the account from the "Primary Language" drop-down menu.
Click the "Payments" tab to view and edit the payment settings for the account. Click the "Buy More" link to purchase more Facebook credits. Click the "View" link to view the account's credit purchase history. Click the "Manage" link to add or remove a payment method, and click the "Change" link to change the account's preferred currency.
Click the "Facebook Ads" tab to view and edit the account's ad settings. Click the "Edit third party ad settings" to edit the settings for third-party ads and click the "Edit social ad settings" to edit the settings for social ads.
