Tips to Clean Leather Volleyball

Volleyball is a sport that has long been played by both men and women alike. Volleyball can be played in nearly any environment, whether it be indoors or outdoors, and requires simply a net and a volleyball. The ball gets volleyed back and forth between opponents, lands on the ground and can bounce off of surrounding surfaces, leaving the bright white color of the volleyball dull and dirty. To clean the volleyball and restore its bright, clean color, use a few household ingredients along with a little scrubbing power.

Dampen a cloth with hot water and add a drop of laundry detergent to the cloth.

Scrub the leather in sections, scrubbing one panel at a time.

Moisten a toothbrush with hot water and a drop of laundry soap, and scrub along seams and between the panels of the ball.

Moisten a cloth with fresh, clear water and wipe over the ball once more to remove any remaining soap. Let the volleyball air dry

Rub a thin, even coating of leather conditioner onto the ball. The cleaning will remove much of the moisture, which will lead to cracked leather over time. Conditioning will replenish moisture to the ball.
