Grooming and Care for Cavachon Puppies

In the queue of many cute and adorable mix breeds, stands one more dog breed - the Cavachon. Cavachon puppies are extremely affectionate and voguish. We get you acquainted with their personality, and tells you how to train, care for, and groom them.

A Wise Friend!
Cavachon puppies are very obedient and smart! They follow all the rules set by you, and also assist you in decisive times through their actions.
The Cavachon dog is not a pure breed. The parents of this cross breed are Bichon Frise and Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. The resultant puppy is a fuzzy ball of fluff that can make a lovely life companion.

♦ Cavachon puppies have toy breed parents; hence, they are relatively smaller when they're old enough to go to new homes, weighing around four to five pounds. They need tender loving care and minimal grooming.

♦ There are no standard characteristics for this dog, as it is a designer breed, and can have the characteristics of both the parents. We get you familiar with the Cavachon puppy, with basic guidelines supported by tips to groom and care for your puppy pet.
Grooming Tips
♦ It is advised to groom your pet every seven weeks. You can take your pet to a professional groomer for doing so.

♦ Your cavachon's coat needs to be clipped from time to time.

♦ Use a soft-bristled brush to brush the furry coat.

♦ They shed tears, resulting in rust-colored stains on their face. Care should be taken to wash and clean their eyes from time to time.

♦ Give them a crate of their own to let them enjoy an untroubled sleep.
♦ Another thing is maintaining your dog's hygiene―cleaning their ears, cutting their toenails, making them smell great. As far as bathing goes, it depends on weather, but they'll be fine with lukewarm water. They are furry, and the coat being white usually, it becomes mandatory to keep the coat clean.
Care
♦ The Cavachon is a light eater, so two small meals per day would be sufficient. Don't overfeed them, as this will result in health problems. We suggest that you consult a vet regarding the food to be fed.
♦ They do not need to be fed heavily due to their small size.
♦ When training your puppy, make sure that everyone in the family uses the same set of commands. Teach him simple commands, like sit down for sitting, etc.
♦ Don't forget to take your puppy outside immediately after eating or sleeping. Take him to the right place to relieve himself, but never punish him for soiling in a wrong place.
♦ Take your puppy out in the gardens, to let him interact with other beings. These sessions should be short and fun.
♦ These dogs are very active. They love to play and exercise. Give them enough time for playing sessions. A daily walk and moderate exercise is suggested for burning the surplus energy.
♦ Cavachons are likely to suffer from health issues like their parents. Knowing the health history of the dam and sire is a way of indicating problems that may distress the puppies in the litter. Some issues include-patellar luxation, brachycephalic airway obstruction syndrome, hip dysplaysia, congenital deafness, and syringomyelia. A monthly visit to vet is recommended.
