Duplicate e-mails may end up in your Gmail inbox occasionally; this most frequently happens when the sender of the message accidentally clicks their "Send" button more than once when sending a message or if they resend the message because they mistakenly believe that the first one did not get to you. However, some people may send you a seemingly duplicate message if they wanted to add to or change part of their original message after it was sent. So, check "duplicate" messages before removing them to ensure that they are indeed duplicates.
Sign in to your Gmail account and click on "Inbox" from the menu on the left hand side.
Find your duplicate messages and check the box next to each email that you want to remove.
Click the "Delete" button from the menu that runs across the top of the messages section.
Check for a yellow note to pop up above the menu that says "The conversation has been moved to the trash" to confirm that the messages have been removed.
