Video clips can be shared in an HTML (hypertext markup language) email by copying and pasting the code for the video into the body of the email. This is a process known as embedding. In order to embed the video in an email, as opposed to placing the entire clip in an attachment, the video must exist on a server somewhere on the Internet, such as a clip uploaded to a video sharing website. Embedding is usually an easier way to send a video clip, since the actual video file may be too large to send as an attachment.
Open the email software on the computer by clicking the name of the program, such as Microsoft Outlook or Gmail, then click "New," "Compose Mail" or similar wording, depending on the program.
Copy the code from the host site or the personal computer for the video to embed in the email. On a Windows platform, highlight the code with the mouse, click the right mouse button and select "Copy." On an Apple computer, highlight the code with the mouse, then press the Apple key and the "C" key at the same time. On a PC, click the "Video" icon on the desktop and choose the code (look for the name of the file) for the desired file when the window appears displaying the available videos on the computer.
Here is an example of a video code:
<object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.yourvideohere.com/v/></param>
<param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param>
<embed src="http://www.yourvideohere.com/v/4YBxeDN4tbk&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>
Paste the entire code into the body of the email without changing anything in the line of code. On a Windows computer, press the right mouse button and click "Paste" or press the "Control" (Ctrl) and "V" keys at the same time. On an Apple computer, press the Apple and "V" keys at the same time.
Write any desired message in the body of the email, then click the "Send" button to deliver the embedded video to the recipient.
