Go to the Babe Ruth Coaching Education Center website, powered by Cal Ripken Baseball. Supply your name, address, phone number and email address, then create a password to start an online account. You then will be taken to the advanced level courses for baseball and softball coaches site. Options include Advanced Baseball the Ripken Way, as well as youth baseball courses. Click on your desired course to purchase. As of publication, Advanced Baseball costs $24.95 and the youth baseball course costs $19.95. Study materials include a description of the difference between technical and tactical skills, how to evaluate those skills, how to teach, critique and correct those skills, and how to run a safe practice.
Acheiving Certification
Log into your account to start your course at any time. You can complete part of your online course, stop, save where you are and log back into continue at any time. The course is all online, you won't be mailed any material and you will never be contacted by an instructor. You have one year to complete the course from the time of purchase. Most coaches finish the course in two to three hours of work. Once you're ready, take the online test, pass it and print out your certificate. Certificates are good for life, and you can log back in to print your certificate at any time.
