Visit Mickey Mantle's Grave

Mickey Mantle was a famous baseball player who spent his major league career with the New York Yankees. Mantle died in 1995 from liver cancer at the age of 63. Baseball fans can pay their respects to Mantle at his grave site in Texas today.

Go to the Sparkman Hillcrest Memorial Park in Dallas, Texas. Mickey Mantle is buried within this cemetery. The address of the cemetery is 7405 W. Northwest Highway in Dallas.

Visit the Saint Matthew Mausoleum within the Sparkman Hillcrest Memorial Park. The building is large and white and contains a number of burials, including Mickey Mantle's. If you'd like directions to the mausoleum or Mantle's grave, stop at the memorial park office.

Look for plot NE-N-D14-15 within the mausoleum. This is Mickey Mantle's grave. You'll also see the name of several of Mantle's relatives as well, including his son Billy who died just before Mantle. Mantle's name is listed as the second name from the bottom in the list.

Read the plague on the wall that is dedicated to Mickey Mantle. The plague reads, "A magnificent New York Yankee, true teammate and Hall of Fame centerfielder, with legendary courage. The most popular player of his era. A loving husband, father and friend for life."

Leave a momento behind if you wish, such as a baseball or a Yankees pennant. You must follow the regulations of Sparkman Hillcrest Memorial Park. Visitors to other Yankee greats including Babe Ruth sometimes leave stones, baseball cards or hats as a tribute.
