Lose Arm Fat Using Mini Trampoline

Performing cardiovascular exercises on a mini trampoline is an effective way to burn calories and shed body fat. However, reducing fat in one specific area is a scientifically proven fallacy. Jumping on a mini trampoline will burn fat all over your body, not just in your arms. To lose arm fat, your best results will come from a mixture of cardio exercise, strength training and a healthy, reduced-calorie diet.

Bounce for Benefits
Jumping on a mini trampoline, also referred to as rebounding, can help burn body fat, maintain a healthy body weight, and increase metabolism. Jumping on a mini trampoline is 68 percent more effective than running at improving oxygen uptake and stimulating heart rate, according to the "Journal of Applied Physiology." Other benefits include improved balance and coordination, greater flexibility and strength, increased cardiovascular endurance, and a reduced risk of fractures and osteoporosis.

Keep it Hopping
The American College of Sports Medicine recommends performing aerobic activities such as rebounding a minimum of 150 minutes per week. Keep your workouts fun and challenging by trying several jumping variations such as star jumps, ski hops, high knees, jumping jacks, and sprinting in place while pumping your arms. You might also try following along with a mini trampoline instructional video, taking a rebounding class at a local gym, or working with a fitness professional to learn proper techniques and exercise variations.

Get Your Muscles in on the Action
Include strength training exercises to build lean muscle tissue, arm strength, and tone your arms. Perform pushups on the mini trampoline by holding onto the frame while keeping your feet on the floor. Increase the intensity by inverting the pushup position -- place your hands on the floor while keeping your feet on the trampoline. Add dumbbells to your rebounding workout to further improve arm strength. Try additional arm-strengthening exercises using the trampoline as a seat or bench, such as seated biceps curls, overhead triceps presses, and triceps kickbacks. Consult a fitness professional to learn proper form before beginning a new exercise program.

Consider Issues Before Bouncing
For effective fat loss, including in the arm area, you’ll need to consume a healthy diet and reduce your caloric intake. Make sure there is adequate clearance around your trampoline, both around and above you. If you have issues with balance, consider buying a trampoline that features a safety bar. Exercise caution when allowing children to use the trampoline, providing supervision at all times.
