Best Advertising Agencies

The advertising industry, much like other industries in the United States, suffered massive job cuts and a tumultuous market from 2007 to 2009, according to AdAge. Top agencies, however, are finding ways to bolster their brands and stay ahead of the curve. The best advertising agencies are those that combine award-winning creative material, nationally recognized clients and consistent revenue streams.

BBDO
BBDO is one of the largest advertising agencies in the world, with 2009 revenues of $1.1 billion. BBDO is one of the best ad agencies in the world for many reasons. It works with top brands such as HBO, Snickers, Chrysler and The Economist. AdAge named the agency one of the "World's Top 50 Agency Companies" in 2010. It also won many prestigious awards in 2010 for its ad campaigns, including awards from the American Art Directors (ADC), the Association of Independent Producers (AICP), Cannes, Clio and One Show. BBDO also received the second highest rating from Creativity Online's Awards Report Methodology, which compiled results from seven awards shows.

Grey Group
Grey Group became a part of the WPP group of companies in 2005 and has since become one of the best advertising agencies. Grey has global accounts, such as Procter & Gamble and GlaxoSmithKline, and had revenues of $505 million in 2009. Grey New York boasts famous clients including the NFL, eTrade, BMW and DirecTV. Grey was No. 1 on Fast Company's 2010 list of "Most Innovative Companies." The company has won awards for creativity such as multiple Cannes Lions, Addys, Clios and Emmys.

Goodby
Goodby had revenues of $777 million in 2009. It boasts a client roster including Comcast, Sprint, Hyundai and Yahoo. It was rated number five on Fast Company's 2010 list of "Most Innovative Companies." In 2010, it won awards from the American Art Directors (ADC), the Association of Independent Producers (AICP), Cannes, Clio and One Show.

Wieden & Kennedy
Wieden & Kennedy, based in Portland, Oregon, had revenues of $209 million in 2009. Its clients include Nike, Livestrong, Levi's, Procter & Gamble and Old Spice. The agency won more then 50 awards for creativity in 2010, from the ADC, AICP, Cannes, Clio and One Show. It received the top rating from Creativity Online's Awards Report Methodology for the most awarded ad agencies.
