Date Ideas in Small Town

Living in a small town can sometimes leave you with the feeling that there is nothing left to do, especially when you want to make the most of your time with that special someone. Whether you are just getting to know the person or have been with one another for awhile, your small town may actually surprise you when it comes to having a great time on your date.

Overcome a Fear Together
Facing a fear alone can be overwhelming. Before you head out, you should both write down a fear on a piece of paper and then go conquer them together. If you are afraid of heights, drive to the nearest mountain or visit a lighthouse. Having the help of someone you care about will provide a distraction, and before you know it, you will be at the top looking at your town in a way you've never seen it before.

Plan a Scavenger Hunt
Before your date arrives, spend the day asking local businesses for help in planting clues around your town. Start off at the local coffee shop and arrange it so your date's coffee lid has the first of many more clues that will ultimately lead them to a park with a picnic set up, complete with their favorite foods and candles to light when the sun goes down.

Create a Personal Drive-in
Instead of going to a crowded restaurant and movie theater, grab a pizza and surprise your date with a drive-in theater set up in the privacy of your own backyard. According to Popular Mechanics, you can set up your own drive-in using four items: a projector, DVD player, FM transmitter, and 750-watt inverter.

Take a Class Together
Rather than telling your date about things you are interested in that you have always wanted to try, such as cooking or learning an instrument, try them together. Check your local newspaper, community college's website, or your library for a listing of classes being offered in your town.

Lend a Helping Hand
Help out the community while getting to know each other. Whether it's working in a soup kitchen, donating blood, or lending a helping hand to some of the locals by offering to walk their dogs or rake leaves, you and your date will end up having fun while giving something back to the community.
