Disable Autolock on Chevy

Many Chevy cars and trucks, including the Impala, Malibu, Avalanche, Colorado and Silverado, come with a feature known as autolock. The autolock feature automatically locks your car's doors when you either put the car in drive or when you reach a certain speed, depending on the Chevy vehicle. On all Chevrolet vehicles equipped with the feature, you can easily disable this function through the driver information center.

Start the Chevy's engine or turn the key to "Run." Push the "I" or "Info" button to browse through the personalization settings.

Stop when you reach "Auto Lock." Push the "Set" button to enter the auto lock settings.

Push the "Set" button to toggle between the selections. Select "Off." Push "Info" again to return to the menu, or to simply turn the ignition off.

Tips & Warnings

These steps may differ slightly depending on which model of Chevy you own. Refer to your owner's manual for more detailed, model-specific instructions.
