How to Tell Him I Love Him

Sometimes words simply aren't enough to let someone know that you love him. Saying "I love you" is nice to hear, but actions that say the same thing carry much more weight. Fortunately, there are plenty of fun, thoughtful, creative ways to tell your special someone -- boyfriend, fiancé or husband -- that he means the world to you.

Cook for Him
The way to man's heart may or may not be through his stomach, but every man appreciates a home-cooked meal made just for him. Leave work early to buy supplies and get home in time to prepare something delicious. Meet him at the door with a beer or glass of wine and enjoy a romantic dinner together. If dinner's too complicated, get up a little earlier and make him a full breakfast. If you want to be especially creative, buy toast stampers that say "I Love You" and serve him toast with a sweet, sincere message.

Get Physical
Men are physical creatures, and getting physical is a surefire way to show that you love them. But you don't need to take it all the way to the bedroom to get your message across. Instead, give your husband a long, full-body hug, rub his shoulders while he's at the computer, give him a back massage while he watches television, or massage his feet. Encouraging him to relax while you do all the work will say loud and clear that you love him and want him to be comfortable and stress-free.

Love Coupons
A book of love "coupons" is a no-fail way to show your boyfriend that you love him. Get creative; decorate index cards with your messages, punch a hole through the lot and tie a ribbon through the hole to keep it together. Make sure the coupons are for activities that are totally selfless; for example, one hour of undisturbed video game-playing, a 30-minute shoulder rub, a movie night with his picks only, or a full weekend with no chores for him. He'll be touched by your selflessness and love for him.

Be There for Him
Your husband will never doubt your love for him if you always put him first and show him that you're there for him no matter what. You needn't perform any over-the-top romantic feats; instead, keep it simple. Always answer his phone calls. Text him back right away. Do the dishes or make the bed when you know he's exhausted. Listen if he needs you to; on the other hand, learn to recognize when he doesn't want to talk. Learn as much as you can about him: knowing what his needs, his dreams and quirks will make you a better wife because you'll then know how best to respond to him. Above all, always take his side; he may be wrong, but loving him means supporting him too.
