Make a Stitch Halloween Pumpkin

If your little one loves the character of Stitch from Disney's "Lilo and Stitch," consider carving a Stitch-themed pumpkin this Halloween. By using a stencil, you can easily recreate the image of the little blue alien on the front of a basic pumpkin. Plus, your kids can get in on the action and help out with some of the non-carving tasks in the project. When you're done, you'll have a carved pumpkin the whole family can be proud of.

Find a stencil with an image of the Disney character Stitch on it, either from a craft store or by ordering it
online from a specialty site. Or, make the stencil yourself by tracing a coloring book image of the character onto a sheet of thick card stock and cutting it out.

Turn your pumpkin so the flattest side of it is facing forward. Tape the stencil down on this side so you have a surface to start tracing.

Trace the Stitch image onto the pumpkin with a pencil and remove stencil when finished.

Chop off the top of the pumpkin and set aside. Scoop out the insides of the pumpkin with your hands and throw away innards. Wash hands.

Using a sharp carving knife, carve out the traced Stitch image from the front of the pumpkin. Discard cut out pieces.

Place a small lit candle inside the pumpkin and replace top on the pumpkin.
