Tell a Classmate You Like Her

Having romantic feelings for someone can be exciting and scary at the same time, especially when you see your crush every day in school. The only way to know for sure if she feels the same way about you is to tell her you like her. The best way to tell someone you have a crush is to say it in person. If you are too shy to say it outright, there are romantic ways to express your feelings from afar.

In Person
Tell her in person. You can say, "I just wanted you to know I like you." It may be best to tell her when other people are not around. Sometimes, people feel shy or embarrassed about their feelings when their peers are nearby.

If you are nervous, express your feelings during an activity.
Follow up your statement with an invite. Ask her, "Would you like to eat lunch with me today?" or "Do you want to go to the movies with me this weekend?"

Respond to her response. If she says, "I like you too" ask her if the two of you can spend time together outside of school. If she says, "I'm sorry. I don't like you like that" ask her if you can be friends. It shows you care about her as a person.

On the Phone
Call your crush if you feel too nervous to tell her in person.

A phone call is more personal than a text or email.
Be honest. Let her know that you are shy.

Follow the same steps as telling her in person.

Send a Love Note
Handwrite a note telling your crush that you like her. Make sure your handwriting is legible.

If you leave the note somewhere, make sure it has high visibility.
Ask for a response. If you want to know if she likes you back, ask her in the note. Give her options for different ways to send the response. These could be things like checking off the "YES" box, sitting with you at lunch or calling you after school. Be sure to include your phone number.

Deliver the note to your crush personally. Do not ask other people to deliver it for you. If you are afraid to give it to her in person, put the note where she can see it. You could leave it in her desk or locker, or mail it to her house if you know her address.

Public Display of Affection
Involve your classmates if you feel confident that your crush likes you back. Ask the marching band to announce your feelings at the next school football game. Invite your crush to go to the game with you. Appoint the school cheerleaders to create a special cheer and perform it during lunch to express your affection. Sit with your crush the day of the performance. Invite your crush to a school play. Right before intermission, appoint one of the student actors to recite your love poem to her on stage.

At the dance, tell her how pretty she looks in her dress.
Ask her out over the school speaker system. Get permission from school faculty first.

Invite her to the school dance and ask the DJ to dedicate a love song to her from you. Don't forget to ask her to dance.
