Link your Twitter account to your Facebook account to post your tweets and retweets on your Timeline or Page automatically. The Twitter for Facebook app doesn't post replies and direct messages on your Timeline and can't change your Facebook status. You can change the privacy settings of the Twitter app on Facebook to limit who sees your tweets and retweets. If you unlink the two accounts, you can delete all your Twitter activity from the Timeline.
- Open the Twitter Applications page (link in Resources), click the "Connect to Facebook" button, log in to your Facebook account -- if you are not already logged in -- and follow the instructions in the new browser window to link the accounts. To link Twitter to a Facebook page, click the "Allow" link in the Facebook Connect section of the Applications page, check the "post to my Facebook page" box and select the page from the drop-down menu.
Link Twitter to Facebook
- Open the "Facebook App Settings" page (link in Resources), mouse over the "Twitter" app and then click the pencil icon. Change the post audience from the "App visibility and post audience" drop-down menu and click "Save." To unlink Twitter from Facebook, mouse over the "Twitter" app on the Facebook App Settings page and click the "X" icon. Check "Delete all your Twitter activity on Facebook" if you want to remove all Twitter posts from your Timeline and click "Remove."
Change the Privacy Settings or Unlink the Accounts
- If tweets no longer appear on your Timeline, disconnect the two accounts, clear your browser cache and cookies, and then link the accounts again. If your Facebook friends can't see your tweets and retweets, change Twitter's privacy settings from the Facebook App Settings page. Your pop-up blocker software may block the new Web browser window when you click the "Connect to Facebook" button or the "Allow" link. Facebook, Twitter or the app may generate some problems; try again after a few minutes.
