Format Facebook Group Layout

If you're the administrator of a Facebook group, it's up to you to make your platform as interesting as possible, in order to attract and retain valuable group members. While changes to the Facebook Groups layout have been a source of contention for some in part because of the new version's more limited features, you'll have to work with what's available to edit the layout of your Facebook group page.

Log in to Facebook with your username and password, and navigate to your groups page.

Click "Edit Group" on the right hand side of the group page.

Type a detailed description into the "Description" box you see at the next screen. If your description contains a lot of valuable information that lasts several paragraphs, this will alter the layout of your page by pushing comments and posts farther down the page. When you've completed your description, be sure to click "Save Changes" near the bottom of the page.

Click on "Group Picture," then "Browse," then select a photo from your computer to add a good group picture to your layout. If you already had a picture for your group, don't hesitate to change it up. Since your options are so limited in what you can do with the layout of your group, you have to make things interesting and new in any way you can.

Add photos or video to the group by navigating back to the group's main page, then clicking the photo or video icon from the top of the page, clicking "Browse" and selecting a video or photo from the files and folders on your computer. When the video or photo is loaded, be sure to click "Share." When a user clicks on "View Photos" from the right hand side of the group page, they'll now be able to see any photos you have posted on behalf of the group.

Add events to your group page by clicking "Create Event" on the right hand side of the main page. At the next screen, enter in the date, location and details for the event, then click "Create Event." The event will then be posted on the right hand side of the group page, thereby enhancing the layout of the group page.
