Hide Location on Facebook

Whether you've just created your Facebook profile or had one for several years, you might not know exactly what is public and what is private. If you have not customized your Facebook settings, chances are some unwanted information appears open to the public, such as your location information. However, Facebook does give you the tools necessary to keep this information hidden. Modify your privacy settings to keep your address and hometown information away from the public.

Hide Address
Sign into your Facebook account, then click the "Account" link at the upper right corner. Choose "Privacy Settings."

Click the "Customize Settings" link near the bottom of the Sharing on Facebook section.

Click the drop-down field to the right of "Address" in the Contact Information area.

Click "Customize."

Select the menu next to "These People" and click "Only Me."

Select "Save Setting."

Hide Current City and Hometown
Sign into your Facebook account, then click the "Account" link at the upper right corner. Choose "Privacy Settings."

Select "View Settings" from the Connecting on Facebook area.

Click the gray menu button to the right of "See your current city and hometown." Choose "Customize."

Select the menu next to "These People" and click "Only Me."

Select "Save Setting."
