How to Comment on Facebook

Comments are a fast and semi-public way to give feedback to your Facebook friends. Whenever a post or photo is added to your own profile or that of a friend, a comment field is automatically added beneath it. When you write a comment beneath a piece of posted content, its creator gets a notification that includes a link to your comment. People who have commented before you on the same content are also notified. Anyone who has access to the post or photo will see your comment.

Log in to your Facebook profile and click on the "Profile" link at the top of the Facebook screen. Once on your own profile, click on the "Friends" link beneath your profile picture to see your full friend list.

Click on the name of a friend to be directed to her profile.

Click inside the "Write a comment" field beneath any post on your friend's wall. To comment on a photo, click the "Photos" link beneath her profile picture and then on the thumbnail of an image to open its full view. Click inside the "Write a comment" field beneath the photo.

Write your comment and hit the "Enter" key to post it.
