Facebook lets you control your profile visibility in detail. You can make your Facebook profile completely open to the public through your profile editing options and privacy options. Facebook profiles are generally intended to be shared with a limited audience, namely your friends and extended networks. Therefore, making your profile public requires manually changing every default privacy option on your Facebook profile so that it is shared with the public.
Navigate to facebook.com and log in to Facebook. Click the "Account" drop-down menu in the upper right area of the page and select "Privacy Settings."
Click the "Public" graphic in the Control Your Default Privacy section of your Privacy Settings page.
Scroll down to the How You Connect section and click the "Edit Settings" link on the right side of the screen. An options panel appears.
Click each of the drop-down boxes except the one labeled "Who Can Post on Your Wall" and select "Everyone."
Click the drop-down box labeled "Who Can Post on Your Wall" and select "Friends." This is the most public option available for this setting.
Click the "Done" button in the options panel and then click "Profile" in the upper right corner of the Web page to proceed to your Facebook profile.
Click the "Edit Profile" button in the upper right corner of your Facebook profile. The Basic Information tab is automatically selected.
Click the drop-down boxes next to Current City, Hometown, Birthday and all other listed items and select "Public." Click the "Save Changes" button at the bottom of the screen.
Click the "Friends and Family" tab on the left side of the screen and set each drop-down box to "Public" as you did in the previous step, then click the "Save Changes" button.
