How to Track Facebook Account Activity

Gmail offers all users a detailed log of recent account activity that displays the access type, location, IP address and date of access. From the log, you can sign out any active session. Like Gmail, Facebook also provides users with the ability to track active sessions by location and IP address. This service is useful if you forget to sign out of your Facebook account from a different computer or if you suspect unauthorized access to the account.

Navigate to Facebook and sign in to your account.

Click the settings drop-down menu at the top right and select "Account Settings."

Click "Security" and then click "Edit" beside "Active Sessions." A list of active sessions will be displayed, beginning with your currently logged in session at the top. If you have active sessions connected to other devices, those will also be displayed along with an "End Activity" link if you want to log out other active sessions.

Hover your mouse pointer over the city listed in the "Location" section of an active session to view the associated IP address. After a second, a tool tip displaying the IP address will be shown.
