Facebook gives you the option of deciding whether friends can check you into Places or not. When you get tagged in a place, your status appears in your friends' news feeds so they will know your current location. If you always want people to know where you are, enable Places. You can also add your location to a new post.
Turn On Places
Click the “Down Arrow” in the menu bar on any Facebook page. Click "Privacy Settings."
Click "Edit Settings" under “How Tags Work.”
Click "Friends Can Check You into Places."
Click the "Disabled" button and select "Enabled" instead. Click "Okay."
Add Location
Browse to your Facebook home page or profile. Type a message in the "Update Status" box.
Click the second icon from the left below the text box. The question "Where are you?" will appear.
Type the name of the place. If you see multiple results, check the street address and click the appropriate location. The message "– at [name of place]" will be appended to your post.
Click "Post."
