When tagged in a Facebook post, the tagged user receives a notification inside their usual inbox on the page. A note also appears on the tagged user's wall, including a link to the post where they were mentioned. The tagged user can remove her tag to disconnect from the post and remove the link from her own wall. This link will also be removed if the other user deletes the original post. The tagged user can still access the post, however, if email notifications are activated.
Log in to your Facebook account.
Click the "Account" button, and select "Account Settings."
Click the "Notifications" tab, and scroll down to the "All Notifications" section.
Click the primary "Facebook" button in "All Notifications" to display a list of activated (and deactivated) email notifications for your Facebook account.
Check the option labeled "Tags you in a post." If the option already has a checkmark, you can see older deleted posts in which you were tagged. If the option was not checked, this ability will only be enabled for future instances of deleted posts.
Click "Save Changes."
Log in to the email account registered with your Facebook account. Search through your email for recent Facebook notifications, and locate the email about the post where you were tagged. The original post will appear in its entirety within the body of the email.
