Your Facebook profile is more than just a way to connect with friends: it contains pictures, emails, comments, notes and other items that you may treasure and want to save. If you run a Facebook page for an organization or business it may also contain valuable customer information and feedback. Use the Download feature on Facebook to export this information, including your friends list, status updates, photos, videos, messages and more to an easily-searched file on your computer.
Launch a Web browser, visit the Facebook website and sign in to your account.
Click "Account" in the upper right corner and select "Account Settings."
Click "Learn More" next to "Download Your Information."
Click the green "Download" button. Click "Download" again in the window that appears.
Check the email address associated with your account and click on the message from Facebook. Click the link in the email and enter your Facebook password again to verify your identity and start the download.
