Among the many features that Facebook offers its users, posting links on Walls through status updates is an easy way to share information found around the Internet with other Facebook users. However, sometimes these URL links can be rather long. To remedy this, use one of many URL shortening services that can take that long URL and make it much briefer.
Navigate your browser to the Web page you wish to post on your Facebook Wall.
Highlight the URL in the address bar of the Web browser, then press the "Ctrl" and "C" keys on the keyboard simultaneously to copy the URL.
Navigate to a URL shortening service, such as the Google URL Shortener at Goo.gl, Tinyurl.com or Bitly.com.
Paste the URL into the URL shortening bar at the top of the Web page and click the shortening button next to the bar.
Highlight the shortened URL that appears and copy it.
Log in to your Facebook account and paste the shortened URL in the status update bar. You can add a personal message to go along with the Wall post. Press the "Share" button below the status update bar to post the link to your Wall.
