The confirmation phone number on Facebook is used to link your mobile phone and online account. If you have a new phone number, you need to change or update the information before continuing to use certain mobile services provided by Facebook, including text notifications. After confirming your new number, you will receive the same mobile services through Facebook you were originally receiving. You need your mobile phone handy to change the confirmation phone number.

Click "Account," and then click "Account Settings" in the drop-down menu.
Click "Mobile" and review the list of mobile phones associated with your account.
