If you have hundreds of friends on Facebook, chances are that you are not intimately close with most of them. You may be annoyed with the clutter on your News Feed from the guy you barely know who posts trivial status updates. There is a way to control what you see on your News Feed so you do not have to remove people entirely from your "Friends" list. You can hide updates from individuals or generalize what kind of posts you want to see on your News Feed.
Hiding Individuals
Click the small "x" in the upper right corner of a post on your News Feed to view hiding and privacy options for individual friends or organizations.
Select the option you want in the drop-down menu, either to "Hide this post" or to "Hide all from Sara" if, for example, you want to hide Sara's updates. If you select the latter, you will not see any more posts from this person until you adjust your settings again.
Repeat any time you see a post on your News Feed from a person or organization you would rather not see regularly.
Editing General Preferences
Go to the "Most Recent" News Feed view, if you are not already there, by clicking that link at the top of your News Feed.
Click "Most Recent" again and select "Edit Options" on the drop-down menu.
Select "Friends and pages you interact with the most" on the drop-down menu next to the words "Show posts from."
