If you want to keep the family listed on your Facebook page private, you can do so. Hiding your family list prevents unwanted visitors to your profile from gaining information about your family members. Facebook allows you to hide or show as much information as you want about yourself and your family. You can change your Facebook privacy settings at any time to hide your family from all visitors to your profile or from anyone who is not your Facebook friend.
Open a Web browser and go to Facebook.com. Log in to your account using your email address and password.
Click "Account" in the top menu and select "Privacy Settings" in the drop-down list.
Click "Customize Settings" to edit your current privacy settings.
Click the drop-down box next to "Family" and select "Custom."
Click "Only Me" in the first drop-down box. You can also opt to choose "Friends Only" to hide your family list from all non-friend visitors to your profile. Click "Save Setting" to hide your family on Facebook.
