If you have an Android device, you can link it with Facebook to receive updates on your device and post to Facebook. However, not all Android devices are the same. On some devices, you can sync your Facebook friends' list with your Android Contacts app. On other devices, this option is not available as either Google or the device manufacturer has disabled it.
Go to the "Market" on your device. By default, a "Market" icon is on the Home Screen. Tap it. If you have moved the icon, find it in the "Applications" list. The Market icon looks like a shopping bag, with the word "Market" directly underneath it.
Touch the "Search" field in the Market. Type "Facebook." Tap the Facebook app in the list of search results. Tap "Install" and "OK" to confirm.
Drag the "Notifications" bar down when the app finishes installing. If you have an Android 3 or 3.1 device, tap the "Notifications" bar. Tap the notification that the Facebook app installed to start the app. Tap "Sign In."
Enter your Facebook email address and password. On some devices, you have the option to connect your friend's list and your Android Contacts app here. If you see it and want to do it, check the box.
Press the "Home" button to exit the Facebook app.
Press down on a blank area of your Home screen, if you want to add the optional Facebook widget. Tap "Widgets" and "Facebook" to add the widget, which shows you the latest status update from your Friends and lets you update your status from the Home screen.
