Facebook is a social media website where you can share links, status updates, photos, videos and other content with other Facebook users you've added as friends. When you add a link to a Facebook message, you may want your network of friends to be able to click the link and visit the site you posted about. Facebook allows you to add links to your Facebook messages, then format the link post to look exactly how you want it to.
Highlight the URL you want to link in your Facebook message.
Right-click the highlighted URL and select "Copy" from the pop-up box that appears.
Log in to your Facebook account and click in the "Link" button at the top of your news feed. Click anywhere in the form field that appears.
Right-click the blank link field and select "Paste" from the pop-up dialog box that appears.
Click the "Attach" button to preview your link post. Facebook automatically formats the URL as hyperlinked text, including a thumbnail image and the first 50 characters of the text on the page you're linking.
Customize the appearance of your link post. Click the hyperlinked text or description text, type what you want it to say and press "Enter.
Add your comments in the comment field, then click the blue "Share" button beneath the form to post to your Facebook wall.
