As Facebook is becoming more accessible around the globe, it is possible to find long-lost friends from the comfort of your living room. However, it may be difficult to find the person you are looking for if he has a fairly common name and doesn't have a helpful profile picture. There are a few ways to cut down the possibilities. With the Facebook Search feature, you can filter your results to look for people by location.
Click the "Search" text box at the top of any Facebook page, and type in the name of the person you wish to find.
Click the "Search" icon to the right of the box, which looks like a magnifying glass.
Click "People" on the left side of the page to display only people and filter out businesses, events, groups and other pages.
Type the name of the city where you believe the person lives in the box next to "Location," near the top of the results page.
Click on a person's name to view his profile, or click "Add as Friend" to send a Friend Request.
