Make It So People Can Find Me on Facebook

Some Facebook members only use the site to communicate with close family and friends. When that is the case, it makes sense to limit who can search for you, if anyone at all. By default, any Facebook user can type your name into the search engine at the top of the screen and find your profile. If you have previously limited the search settings on Facebook but want to expand the setting to allow more people to find you, the process is easy.

Click on the white "Account" link in the top toolbar of any Facebook page.

Select "Privacy Settings" from drop-down menu.

Click on the "View Settings" link, located at the top of the page in the "Connecting on Facebook" section.

Click on the gray icon with a lock on it just to the right of the "Search for you on Facebook" section, located at the top of the screen. Select "Everyone" from the list of privacy options. When you select the new setting, Facebook automatically saves it.
