Message More Than One on Facebook

Facebook messages offer a private way to communicate with your friends on the social networking site. When you want to convey the same private message to a group of your friends, just enter more than one name in the recipient field. Facebook allows you to send the same message to a maximum of 20 people. You can message someone who isn't a Facebook friend yet by entering her email address in the recipient field, but she can only be messaged individually.

Click on the "Message" link on the Facebook homepage. The link is located in the left column of the Home page, just beneath the thumbnail of your profile picture.

Click the gray "+ New Message" icon in the top-right corner of the screen. A new pop-up window appears in which you create the message.

Begin to type the name of the first recipient in the "To" field at the top of the window. As you type, Facebook generates a list of friends that match the text you've entered. Pick a friend from the list by clicking her name. Once the first friend's name appears in a blue bubble in the "To" field, type the next recipient's name. Repeat the process for each message recipient.

Use the text field beneath the recipients' names to type the body of your message. Click "Send" to transmit the message. Each recipient has the option to respond to only you or to the entire recipient list.
