Tag People in Other Facebook Things

Facebook provides a convenient way to share longer thoughts or text that won't fit into a status update. You can create notes and tag friends in them, either because you mention them or because you want to draw their attention to the notes. However, you might also want to tag friends in other people's Facebook notes. Facebook does not allow you to tag them in notes directly, but you can tag them in comments attached to the notes, and they receive alerts informing them you have done so.

Log in to your Facebook account.

Find the note in which you want to tag your friends and open it. You can do this either by clicking on the "Notes" icon in the left-hand panel of your home page or by typing the name of the note's author into the search box at the top of the page. Once you have clicked on the author's profile, click the "Notes" icon in the left-hand panel of the profile page to display his notes.

Click on the "Comment" box at the bottom of the note. Start by typing "@" and follow with the beginning of your friend's name as it appears on his Facebook profile. Facebook uses the prompt to suggest a list of friends you might mean, and you can choose the correct friend from the list.

Repeat this process for each friend you want to tag, typing the name preceded by the "@" symbol. When you have posted the comment, any friends with "@" in front of their names are tagged, and their names become links to their profiles.

Press the "Enter" button on your keyboard when you have finished writing your comment. This publishes your comment, and your friends are tagged and notified.
