You cannot change the appearance or layout of your Facebook Wall, because the website does not allow you this ability. But you can update a few options from the Privacy Settings that control what is displayed or who can post on your Wall. It is recommended to check these settings so you can control what is seen on your Wall and who can see it, thereby altering the appearance of your Wall.
Visit the Facebook website and log in to your account.
Click "Account" from the top navigation bar. Click "Privacy Settings" from the drop-down menu.
Locate and click the "Customize settings" link toward the bottom of the page.
Go to the "Things I Share" section. The options that relate specifically to the Facebook Wall include "Posts by me" and "Places you check in to."
Click the drop-down menu to the right and select "Customize," which pops open a dialog box. If you want your Wall posts or check-ins to be private, then select "Only me" and click the "Save Changes" button.
Go to the "Things others share" section. Uncheck the "Enable" box next to "Friends can post on my Wall" option if you want to prohibit people from posting on your Wall. Additionally, you may want to change the "Can see Wall posts by friends" by selecting "Customize," then "Only Me" and clicking "Save Changes."
