Create Flier for Baseball Tryouts

Holding a tryout is one of the best ways to put together a talented baseball team or league. One key to a productive tryout is ensuring the event is well-attended by potential players. The more players that attend, the more talent available to join your team or league. Alert players to your tryout with a well-designed flier. An efficient flier needs certain information but can be crafted easily with basic tools.

Open a word processing document or another design program that allows you to create fliers from a template. There is software designed specifically for flier creation, but if you don't have a comparable program, a word processor that allows for photos will suffice.

Type the name of your league or organization at the top of the page. This text should be bold and large enough to be read easily. Center the text for a smoother layout. For example, type "Mission Valley Youth Baseball Tryouts" to announce the purpose of your flier.

Add a pertinent picture just below the title of your organization. The picture could be a logo of your league or find a digital photo taken at one of your organization's baseball games. If you don't have a logo or photo, find a generic baseball picture online and copy and paste the photo into your document. Center and stretch the photo so that it is large enough to see but maintains clarity.

Type information about the tryout centered below the picture. Choose a font that is legible and bold. Key information about the tryout should include league website, date, time, age groups eligible, positions eligible, location and what players need to bring.

Add a colorful border to your document. This can be as simple as a straight line that encompasses the information on the flier. Word processors allow you to easily tailor a border color and width that works for your flier.

Save the file to a folder or onto your desktop for retrieval later to print or email to a printer or others to print for distribution.
