Get Customer Reviews on Google

With its extensive amount of consumer information, Google can effectively make or break your business. When clients and customers leave reviews, it often bumps up your information in search results and makes you seem more desirable to more clients. Poor reviews have the opposite effect. Regardless, the trick is to garner as many reviews on Google as possible to establish yourself as a leading and popular business on the Web and improve your chances for growth.

Navigate to places.google.com and then click "Places for business." Click "Sign up for a new Google
account" and fill out the required information to register with Google Places. Google Places is an online database of physical and virtual businesses, where customers can search through businesses, learn more general information and leave reviews. To have a Google Places account, you must have a physical mailing address.

Solicit reviews promptly after a transaction. Waiting to send an email requesting a review weeks or even months after a transaction means your customer might ignore the request simply because he doesn't remember the transaction. Ensure that all requests for reviews are attached to confirmations or a followup email after an item has been shipped or a service performed.

Link to your Google Places page from your business website. That way, customers can review your business after a transaction or during the transaction process. Create a button for your homepage that says something to the effect of "Rate Us!" so customers know to click and be redirected to Google Places, where they can leave positive or negative feedback, depending on your performance.

Attach a link to order and shipping confirmation emails that entices customers to leave a review on Google for you. If you own a physical business, create a small flyer with your Google Places address and a request to leave feedback about a customer's overall transaction results. This makes leaving a review a simple process so customers needn't go searching for your Google Places page.

Offer an incentive to those customers who leave feedback. For instance, if you have a physical business, customers can print out their Google Places feedback page and receive a percentage off of their next orders. Or, for an online business, create a coupon code specifically for customers who leave reviews. Leaving a review takes time, so offering a reward for that time helps entice customers.
