Golf Courses Orlando, Florida

The Lee Vista area in southeast Orlando is known for its golf -- in addition to numerous shopping and dining options. At its heart is Lee Vista Boulevard, which stretches east to west for approximately 6 miles, and is less than 4 miles north of Orlando International Airport. No golf clubs lie directly on Lee Vista Boulevard, but a quartet of courses allowing public play are within a 10-minute drive, with several others slightly farther away.

Rio Pinar Country Club
Rio Pinar Country Club, about 4 miles north of Lee Vista Boulevard's intersection with South Chickasaw Trail, is a historic Orlando golf course that opened in 1957. Rio Pinar was the longtime site of the Citrus Open, a stop on the PGA and LPGA Tours, and played host to such top professionals as Arnold Palmer, Lee Trevino, Hale Irwin and Beth Daniel. The par-72 course has tight, tree-lined fairways and is open to public play, with five sets of tees. Other club facilities include a grill room, pro shop, driving range and practice areas for chipping and putting.

Ventura Country Club
Ventura Country Club, about 4.5 miles north of Lee Vista Boulevard's intersections with Semoran Boulevard and Goldenrod Road, is a semiprivate course with narrow fairways set amid natural wetlands on the site of a former dairy farm. With 15 of its 18 holes protected by lakes, canals or marshes, water is a constant hazard. Wildlife you might see during your round includes bald eagles, osprey and fox squirrels. The par-70 course has four sets of tees, more than 50 sand bunkers and undulating Champion Bermuda greens.

North Shore Golf Club
North Shore Golf Club, a par-72 course with four sets of tees, is about 6 miles southeast of Lee Vista Boulevard's intersection with Narcoossee Road. The course's 18 holes are divided into two different design styles, including a links-style front nine set along wetlands, and a parkland-style back nine that winds through old oak groves. Other facilities at the public course include a driving range, practice greens for chipping and putting, locker rooms with showers, a grill and a pro shop.

Eagle Creek Golf Club
Eagle Creek Golf Club, which lies about 7 miles south of the intersection of Lee Vista Boulevard and Narcoossee Road, is the longest course in the Lee Vista area. Although the par-73 course measures more than 7,300 yards from the championship tees, five sets of tees make it an enjoyable test for all skill levels. Eagle Creek has fast-rolling greens, more than 90 Scottish-style bunkers and dramatic wooden bulkheads that line the course's water hazards. Other amenities include a two-sided driving range, a practice hole with sand traps and a 14,000-square-foot clubhouse with a pro shop, a 120-seat restaurant and locker rooms with showers.

Other Nearby Courses
Lake Nona Golf & Country Club, less than 5 miles south of the intersection of Lee Vista and Narcoossee, is perhaps the most heralded golf course in southeast Orlando, but the exclusive private course is not open to public play. You must have a membership or be the guest of a member to play at Lake Nona, which lies inside the gates of the namesake community that is home to numerous professional golfers. Three other public courses are slightly farther north or northeast of the Lee Vista area, including the par-67 Winter Pines Golf Club, par-72 EastWood Golf Club and par-72 Stoneybrook East Golf Club. All are within a 10-mile drive of Lee Vista Boulevard.
