Save KMZ File in Google

Google Earth can save placemarks and locations as a KMZ file, which is a zipped KML file. You can distribute this KMZ file by email, save it to your computer or post it on a Web server. Users of Google Earth and other applications that support KMZ files can open the KMZ file and see your saved placemarks on their computer. KMZ files are smaller than KML files because of the zip file compression, so they download faster.

Save places to your My Places folder in Google Earth. Search for places by typing their name or address into the "Fly To" box at the left-hand side of the Google Earth window then right-click the place and click "Save to My Places."

Right-click in the places pane click "Add" and click "Folder." Type a name for the folder into the name box and press "Enter."

Drag and drop each placemark you want in the KMZ file into the folder in the places pane.

Right-click the folder containing the places you want to save in the places pane at the left side of the Google Earth window and click "Save As."

Type a name for the KMZ file into the name box.

Click the "Save as Type" box and click "KMZ" in the list.

Click the "Save" button.
