Finding friends on Facebook is typically a swift process. You just type your friend's name in the search bar at the top of any Facebook screen, and the social networking site finds her for you. If you are looking for someone with a very common name, you might want to try searching for her email address instead. Facebook can scan the address book in your email account and let you know which of those addresses have Facebook accounts.
Click the "Friends" link under your profile picture on the Facebook homepage.
Click "Find Friends" under "Friends" and then the "Find Friends" link to the right of your email service.
Enter your email address and the password associated with your account.
Click "Find Friends." Facebook will scan your email address book for email addresses registered with Facebook. A list of matching contacts appears.
Check the box next to a contact and click "Add as Friend" to send a friend request.
