How to Draw Volleyball

When it comes to drawing, practice makes perfect. And while some people are born with a natural talent for drawing, others can learn to develop drawing skills with the help of accommodations. Sometimes when you are learning to draw, it is best to start with a simple subject. Learning how to draw a volleyball can be a good way to practice the basics.

Step 1
Begin by drawing a circle. The circle will serve as the outline of the volleyball and should be perfectly round. If you are not confident in your ability to draw the perfect circle, any round object that can be traced and matches the approximate size of the volleyball that you wish to draw should suffice.

Step 2
Draw the first quadrant of the volleyball. It is easiest to begin drawing the first quadrant by drawing the curved line, diagonally down the center of the circle, followed by the four inner lines.

Step 3
Create the second quadrant of the volleyball by attaching a curved line at the top tip of the previously drawn center line, followed by a parallel inner line. Your volleyball should now be taking on a three dimensional look.

Step 4
Add the third quadrant. By drawing a line from the tip of the triangle of the first quadrant, and up towards two o'clock, the third quadrant of the volleyball begins to take shape. Follow up with another parallel line in the center of the third quadrant.

Step 5
Complete your volleyball drawing by adding your fourth and final quadrant. By this time your volleyball is just about complete, except for the final two lines that are needed to complete the fourth quadrant. Wrap your volleyball drawing up with a line that connects quadrant two and quadrant three, followed by drawing a final inner line to complete quadrant four.
