How to Learn Swing Bat Trick

Former Seattle Mariners draft pick Josh Womack became an Internet sensation in 2009 with the emergence of videos of his bat trick. Playing with the independent Long Beach Armada at the time, Womack's videos showed him taking a slowed-down batting swing, but letting go of the bat in front of him, spinning it several times and catching it again. Though it's not impossible to learn this trick, it's extremely difficult to master effectively.

Hold the baseball bat as you normally would during a swing.

Swing at quarter-speed, and when your bat reaches the point in which it's straight out in front of your body, flip the handle of the bat backward.

Allow the bat to spin free for one complete revolution, then catch its handle again and finish your swing.
