In addition, while baseball photos typically feature cleaned-up players with washed uniforms, you can achieve a more realistic feel by shooting them in dirty uniforms with their dusty faces and with eye black applied under their eyes.
Capture the players in locations atypical for most baseball photos. For example, you could shoot players individually in an empty dugout or leaning against the backstop fencing, or have cheering fans pose behind a player standing in the on-deck circle as if taken during a live game.
