Golf carts are used on public, upscale and private golf courses all around the world. Not only are they seen on courses, but on large estates and parks as well, including use as recreational vehicles. If your cart is not fast enough for you using its factory settings, you can increase the speed of your club cart with a few simple tweaks.
Power clean the cart using a hose and soapy water. Make sure to clean the entire cart and around the wheels and wheel wells. This will make sure that your cart is moving at its most efficient.
Remove any unnecessary racks or items that might be weighing your cart down or slowing down the speed of the cart.
Remove the restrictor underneath the gas pedal, if there is one. There may be a bar restricting you from pressing your pedal all the way, and this can be taken out with a wrench and a screwdriver.
Adjust the governor inside the cart's engine. The governor is a T-shaped metal rod near the top of your engine, and is located just beside the cylinders of the carburetor. You can remove the governor speed restrictions by fastening the governor closer towards the carburetor.
Add larger tires to your cart. Larger tires can be added by simply removing the old ones, and this will allow you to cover more ground without increasing engine size.
