Finger painting is a wonderful way to introduce children to art. Young children will have more success using their fingers than traditional paint brushes and kids of all ages love the sensory experience of slathering their hands in paint.
Step 1
Along with the finger paints and several small bowls, you will also need a tablecloth or newspaper to keep your table clean. Please see the last slide for an itemized list of tools and materials.
Step 2
Fill each bowl with a different paint color and line them up next to the paper, along with a bowl of water and a small hand towel.
Step 3
Encourage kids to explore the paint with their hands. They can start out making designs with just their fingertips and eventually transition to using their entire hand. Use the water bowl and towel to clean hands off between colors.
