Check if Friend Has Blocked My Gmail ID

Check if your friend has blocked your Gmail ID to prevent you from chatting with him if you haven't seen him appear online recently. Gmail doesn't notify you when someone blocks you, which prohibits you from being able to speak with the person via Gmail chat. Determine whether you are actually blocked, or whether the other user simply hasn't been online or available to chat.

Log into Gmail and locate the "Chat" pane in the lower, left corner. Scroll through the list and look for your friend's name.

Send an email to the friend if his name doesn't appear anywhere in your list. When someone blocks you, he disappears from your Gmail chat list and you from his, but you aren't blocked from communicating via email. Ask him to explain why he blocked you and if it is deliberate.

Hover your mouse over the friend's name if he still appears in the list, but hasn't been online in sometime. Click "Chat," type a message to him and hit "Enter." If he responds, it means he has been chatting in "Invisible" mode, which allows him to be online even when is offline. A user's Gmail ID no longer appears in the contacts list of someone he blocks.
