Windows helps you manage email more productively by enabling you to change your default email client. Make Outlook or Thunderbird your default, for example, and one of those programs launches when you click an email address on a Web page. If you use Gmail and Google Chrome, you can click a couple of buttons and make Gmail your default email client. Web page email links will then open Gmail when you click them.
Launch Chrome and visit your Gmail page.
Move to the browser's address bar and find the star-shaped icon in the bar's right corner.
Click the icon that looks like two adjacent diamonds that sits next to the star icon to open a drop-down menu.
Click the menu's "Use Gmail" radio button and click "Done." Chrome makes Gmail the default program to open email links.
Tips & Warnings
